How Kiwis build a hangi

A hangi is usually done when there is a celebration on or something like that.Now I would like to tell you how kiwis build a hangi.

Firstly you need to dig a hole,you need to dig it about the size of your basket. After you have dug the hole, you need to put logs in from biggest to smallest. Now you need to put volcanic rocks on top of the logs.

If you put normal rocks on the hangi they will blow up.Once the rocks have fallen to the ground that means that the fire is ready.Now that the fire is ready the basket can be put in the hole for the food to cook.

Now that the basket is in the hole for the food to cook, you can relax for 3-4 hours so the food can cook properly. While you relax you could also get some newspaper ready to wrap the food.

Now that the food is cooked you can take it home eat your delicious hangi.
